Hi all,

Last night I was having a few issues! I had my tea and then my blood sugar started dropping so I had something else to eat. Blood sugar dropped to as low as 3.7 so I treated as a Hypo. Took some Lift glucose tabs. Blood sugar went up but kept dropping although my CGM was saying it was steady. I had something else to eat and my blood sugar didn’t rise much at all. Why is this?? Don’t know exactly how Dexcom work…My Libre 2 sensor has showed a similar phenomenon then next day got itching feeling around sensor…which I now know indicates the filament is coming out/ failing. Only once has it very quickly failed with BG plummeting completely, more often get the apparently working on/off, which is not good if meanwhile you stuff yourself with jelly beans! Did you also do finger prick tests? What’s it doing now…if odd I’d remove it…Abbott the Libre manufacturers now have a website where you can tell them of problems and they send a new monitor.

I trialled the FreeStyle Libre 2 and didn’t like it at all. Had nothing but sensor errors and signal losses! I much prefer Dexcom! Yes I did finger pricks! Had to calibrate it with my BG meter a few times. It seems to have sorted itself out now and is pretty accurate with my BG meter.

You should always check unexpected results with a proper blood test.. Dexcom can give false lows particularly when it’s failing.. also if pressure is put on it.. and when you are dehydrated

So if you have eaten and expecting a rise but it’s going down you should confirm and treat only if needed
