Is metformin will be good?

I am T2 for nearly 10 years. My sugar levels are normal most of the time with low carb diet and exercise. I am not on any medication. I am thinking even my glucose levels are normal unless I occasionally eat some carbs is it good to take metformin to help in the long run on insulin resistance and other benefits it gives.
Appreciate your thoughts on this.

Thanks

First of all, congrats on 10 years of remission.
I've never taken Met but I know others swear by it, I've read of Junior Doctors self prescribing for it's anti-cancer & longevity benefits.
My Endo said he'd put it in the water supply
