Just wondering how long it is ok to keep insulin (novorapid and levemir flexpens) out of the fridge in their unopened boxes for. I am worrying because I am going to Canada for a long time and sent over my insulin by courier. It was only going to take 48 hours but then later that day was the volcanic eruption and it's basically been lying in my case in a warehouse until this morning when it was sent to NY and onto Canada tomorrow.

Is it still going to be ok? I'm really panicking because there was a good 6+ month supply there, I'm stuck in Egypt right now and will be going straight to Canada so have no time to sort out getting more in the UK if it's not going to be ok

Insulin can be kept at normal tempreture for a month as long as tempreture don't get too high or below freezing that is..

There is a but to this, you say that it was sent by courier, did they know that they were transporting insulin for you? As if not and it was sent by plane there is a very high possiblity it may have got frozen in flight! The baggag haul is only heated if they are carrying live stock, i.e dogs, cats etc.. So you need to consider this possiblity..
