Is palm oil bad?
I am concerned about Omega 6 among others.

The cultivation of palm oil is an ecological disaster for some places - I would not use it for that reason - but I use the fats which are generated by cooking meats for cooking other things - plus the really heavy cast iron pans I've had for decades and which are like glass now despite not having a non stick coating. I do have olive oil to make salad dressing and scrambled eggs, and coconut oil because I like it, but do not use any other oils.

Palm oil is 'relatively' low in omega 6s but it is inflammatory and has been linked to Insulin Resistance.
I have never knowingly used it because of the damage that commercial growing of the plants causes to the enviroment including soil erosion, artificial fertiliser use and destruction of natural habitat where at risk species are decreasing in the wild.

In moderation, there's nothing wrong with Omega -6. In fact, it's necessary for our health. The problem with palm oil is, its widespread use in the Western diet has resulted in the deforestation of the habitats of many endangered plant and animal species so best avoided, at all times.

Use butter, coconut oil, olive oil, nuts, avocado's, so many sources which are kinder to the environment.

I avoid it at all costs. My omega 6 comes fromorgianc turkey and chicken for the most part. I balance it with Fish as bear I can.

In Indonesia it is really bad, just recently the Sumatran Tiger was put on the endangered species list because of loss of habitat.

Also the Orangutans in Borneo are running out of time for the same reason due to palm oil tree cultivation.
