My depression has returned with a vengeance, could it be caused by dropping sugar levels and starting on basal insulin?

There is a strong link between diabetes and depression, about twice the incidence than the general population I think. Hospital diabetic clinics are now being asked to gear up to support diabetics for depression and your hospital clinic may have a counsellor they can refer you to. Or ask your GP to research the connection between diabetes and depression, and refer a counsellor.

Depression can occur at low BG or at high BG.
