I detest taking tablets of any sort but these Eucreas scare me badly for some reason.

I have a similar cocktail of Metforin SR, and a different brand of DPP-4 inhibitor but as separate pills.
No problems, and good control.
But I am on a diet, calories counting, and avoiding bad carbs, but I say with absolute certainty there is no problem with excesses of alcohol on my mix, (apart from using most of my days calories up).
All my bloods have been good, so no liver or kidney problems.

Hi. I was on Gliclazide for a few years together with Metformin SR which I'm still on. Alcohol is normally OK in sensible quantities and your annual diabetes check includes a urine analysis for kidney function. Neither drug has a dramatic effect on blood glucose so you still need to be careful with all carbs and adjust these to ensure your blood glucose is in the right region.

Gliclazide is a different type of drug to a DPP-4 inhibitor. Having said that, I have mixed both with alcohol, with no unpleasant side effects.

The ale could be a problem, usually high strength in beer means high sugar content, I used to like dark Belgium ale, now it's Coors Light. Merlot I'm good with, and other dry wines. Spirits with diet mixers, but the mixers give me a headache from the sweeteners.

That's the dire warning over metformin, which is why the no alcohol rule applies. But the warning signs come first, and I had a look online myself initially, and couldn't find any actual cases of it happening in reality.
