I went for a blood sugar test over a month ago and it came back as 23.5 mmol/L. Since then I have managed to get it down to an avg of around 11 mmol/L. Is this improvement good enough?

that is a fantastic improvement in a month. Halve it again and you will be back to normal ;)

Any improvement is good enough for me but your diabetic team and your more knowledgable self will like below 8s if you're a type 2.
Myself, for myself I like below 7s. I need to keep neuropathy at bay.
I was very happy with my hba1c 48 but some like theirs in the 30s.
What has your medical team gave you as a daily target?

If all those tests were fasting blood glucose tests, then well done, you have halved them. :)
That is good going in a month.
Keep doing what you are doing, and maybe you can halve them again!

Thank you for your replies, I havn't seen the team yet as they weren't able to keep the appointment, I hope to meet up with them soon

Hi Norrseman - Well done on your progress so far. That's a decent shift in a month. I'm sure, given more time you'll likely work out how to bring it down further.

On a slight aside, it's not clear from your posts or your profile what sort of diabetes you have. It can be really helpful for members to understand if you're T2, T2, or whatever and what, if any medications you might be taking. That information helps tailor any suggestions made.

You can add or modify that information, by going to your account. You can do that by clicking on your name, on any page, as highlighted (clumsily!) on the image below:

Your screen will likely be showing much more red than mine. That too is a setting you can adjust yourself. If you want assistance with that, just give me, or any of the other mods, a shout.

Maybe theyve seen you determined to reduce your hba1c and give you a chance to make a good dent in it? Time can do that when people who are as determined as you!
Keep smashing these high bgs with tips from here and I bet your next hba1c will be astonishing.
Mine has just got better and better. (Except for a bereavement inbetween).
A very well done.

I found catching the morning liver dump gave me huge improvement in my hba1c.
Search here about....liver dumps and dawn phenomenon. Liver blocks (a fatty protein e.g nuts or cheese nibbles before bed) and i also use metformin, really made a difference to my moral and hba1c.
