If so, then you may want to discuss adding Metformin to your meds as this is the drug of choice to reduce insulin resistance. Gliclazide should have an effect within a week or so max as it directly prods the pancreas. I suspect it may not be working as any insulin resistance means you may already be 'swimming' in insulin and don't need any more? Your number one priority is to reduce your carbs to below, say, 150 gm/day. Your eyesight should recover once you blood sugar comes down; mine did.
