Is this normal?

My fasting bg was 11.8 today. I haven't eaten yet and at noon my bg is 4.7 the only thing other than green tea with a bit of milk and a coffee with cream is I had my Creatine supplement.

I have read (I believe Mayo Clinic)that Creatine can lower blood glucose and it is advised to drink plenty of water when using it. I lift weights and it has helped me up my reps. I have in the past noticed lower bg levels but nothing like a 7.1 drop in 5 1/2 hours. Maybe it was the rice last night that spiked my levels(which I now will remove from my diet).

Has anyone else experienced a drop in bg levels that much that fast?

Are you sure about both these levels? The fasting test was very high. Is it normally so high? If not, did you do a re-test in case it was a rogue reading? I imagine such a big drop is normal in 5 1/2 hours . I can't say it has happened to me as I am never high enough for such a drop.

Before bed my bg was 11.4 so I'm guessing it was right. I didn't do a second test. It didn't cross my mind. 2.5 hours after the 4.7 I'm now at 5.8.

I have experienced this myself. It usually occurs after a big spike, followed by insulin dose. I dropped 8 points over 6 hours after a particularly large spike rising to 23. The bgl's settled by next day.
