Acceptance of health treatment claims that are not adequately supported by evidence. I dislike it when people sell ineffective and even harmful alternative health products to exploit the desperation of people with chronic illness.
Tiredness and/or hyperactivity in children can be signs of poor quality or quantity of sleep. Often these are the clues that the child may have a sleep related breathing disorder like obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) syndrome.

In children, OSA is usually caused by enlarged tonsils and adenoids, and can be corrected with surgery. Other possible signs are restless sleeping, snoring, breathing pauses followed by gasping for air, needing to use the toilet during the night, bedwetting, or a severe headache first thing in the morning.

Overweight children and teenagers could have OSA from their size, and treating it may reduce their risk of developing T2 diabetes at a young age. People of any age can have OSA that is caused by enlarged tonsils.

A GP can refer a child or adult for a sleep study to diagnose these problems.

Does anyone have a child who has had symptoms like this or been diagnosed with a sleep disorder?
