yup have got it working again thanks. just started communicating with nightscout pro on email too about setting up a subscription to his service for the garmin watch. I will update how it goes.Have you got shuggar to work now?
took a couple of scans to get it going on Monday
Remember to go into settings on libre app & turn Bluetooth off until you get shuggar working, then go back & turn it back on again
Hope you’re sorted now
Thanks for the reply, becca59.@AlanG57 you can scan by pressing the wave icon top right.
I am assuming that you are not running Shuggah at all. My problem is that I really want to run Shuggah because it sends readings to my watch which is a great bonus when I am driving. I had both Libre and Shuggah performing perfectly side-by-side, both with Bluetooth turned on, until I did a sensor change today. You can see my post above which explains all this. So, I suppose I was one of those people running it perfectly well with no problems like you but that’s not the case anymore. Right now I cannot get Libre to work except for performing a manual scan. I’ve not been able to get the alarms working today at all. I have tried many different things, all without success and I am pretty IT literate. Abbott really should be able to tell us exactly what will work, but they don’t seem very interested. If the Shuggah app can send readings to my watch at an interval decided by me, then surely Libre should be able to do this as well.I am reading all threads to do with the Libre debacle with much interest. I cannot understand why some people are having huge issues, whilst others, myself included, are having none. There must be some common denominator as to the problems. Age of phone, operating system, other items running on the phone that are interfering.
I’m sorry people are having problems. But can honestly say I have had no issues from the very first day when I swapped whilst already wearing a sensor. It just connected. Then my new sensor started fine, alarms work And it only loses signal when I am nowhere near it. I am not saying this to rub it in but want people to know it can work absolutely fine, so if it isn’t for you, pursue it to find out why.
Thanks for this, I have now tried turning my alarms off, but I’m still not getting continuous readings! I’m too tired now to try anything else, but in the morning I might try uninstalling and reinstalling the Libre app and see if that does anything. If it still fails, I will then try turning the alarms off like you and see if that works following the reinstall. It’s so frustrating and really draining. We should not be having to do this. If this all fails again I will try ringing Abbott but I will not be holding my breath.I changed sensors on Monday
Started libre with iPhone, turned Bluetooth off tin settings, scanned with shuggar, took a few attempts to connect, then turned Bluetooth back on in libre
libre kept saying signal loss so deleted the app & reinstalled it
All seems to be working, I’ve kept the alarms off on libre & using the alarms on shuggar, libre is giving me continuous readings as long as I’m near to my phone
Sorry, not on insulin so don’t know about adding your Novepen
I am in exactly the same position as you. I knew nothing of an alternative app until the crash. I was fully aware of Shuggah’s warnings about the need to turn off the Libre Bluetooth, but when I first started Shuggah, both it and Libre worked fully alongside each other with Bluetooth turned on for both! This was the case with the sensor I had on at the time of the crash and with the next one; so I had both running for just over two weeks without any problem with either. It is only with my next sensor that I find myself in the same position as you. Even removing Shuggah has done nothing for getting Libre to work, apart from being able to scan. I do think Abbott deserve some criticism for a few things. It was very poor that they updated the app, clearly without thorough testing, which then caused the crash that created considerable concern for many iPhone users throughout the UK; enough to make it news on the BBC. They were also very slow to even acknowledge the difficulty on their website. Over 3 years I have compared Libre’s readings with finger prick tests, and most of the time Libre shows a reading of between 0.6 and 1.2 above. Having done this with Shuggah, it has usually been within 0.3 of finger pricks. This suggests that Abbott could be doing more to improve the accuracy of Libre. I am very grateful for the Libre system, which has transformed my blood glucose control, but I would expect some feedback on the issues that still persist, along with advice on overcoming them. After all, there are people who have not installed Shuggah, but who are still encountering issues with the updated Libre. If I do contact Abbott, I see no reason to mention Shuggah, as my concern is that Libre will not work for me, even with Shuggah disabled. I have an iPhone 12 running the latest iOS 16.I see what is being said about running Shuggah with LibreLink. However, I only started using Shuggah when Librelink failed. Before that I knew nothing about a second or alternative app. I have tried running LibreLink with Shuggah turned off but all I seem able to get is the alarm failure warning. One of the great advantages of LibreLink with the Libre2 sensor was the alarm system. Now the only way I can receive alarms is by using Shuggah. I have to have bluetooth turned off for LibreLink for the Shuggah alarms to work. The result of all this is that Librelink only works with periodic manual scans of the sensor which is no different from the old Libre1 system. I fully understand the fear that Abbott will lean on Shuggah in an effort to get rid of it and, in truth, that might not be so bad if only LibreLink worked properly. Of course that would mean that the link between smartphone and smartwatch would disappear. I despair sometimes.
