At least I truely hope Im having issues or my blood sugars are way screwy. Ive been up a few hours, all Ive had is a small glass of water. I phoned the customer support for the Accu-Chek Performa Nano I had brought due to it saying low battery etc. This was resolved and a 'successful' test achieved - of 13.7.This seemd strange for not having eaten in over 12 hours. i washed my hands again and retried, now its 14.7! Ive had a couple of issues recently that could be symptons of high blood sugar hence biting the bullet nd buying a meter.
Any suggestions as to what I am probably doing wrong?

Welcome to the forum paxs
You did exactly the right thing by giving your hands a wash and re checking but with
a new meter and strips and both reading's in the same ball park. I think you have to
trust your meter and accept that your levels are high.
As to what you are doing wrong, my guess would be that you have too many carbs in your diet.
Have a look at the link in my signature (the nutritional thingy)

Have you been "officially" diagnosed with anything yet?
HbA1c tests done or...

Hello and welcome by the way.

If you don't trust your meter it may be best to make an appointment at your doctors surgery or get a blood sugar test at your local pharmacy or a Boots pharmacy or Lloyds Pharmacy this would give you an idea of if your meter even though new is on the blink.
