It suddenly dawned on me...

And the costs of Ambulance dealt with severe hypos in the UK are astonishing.

That is truly shocking. I'm blown away by that! See, I've always felt incredibly guilty whenever I've had a hypo which was bad enough to need ambulance assistance, but to now see the cost in black & white really is astonishing!
Maybe I should take that in to my GP along with the letter!
 

@zoze_j, a few years back my own gp tried to say that I was testing too many times a day and I didn't need to test more than 4 times, despite explaining to him why I needed to test 6-8 times a day he was adamant he was right, so I left it at that and spoke with my Endo at my next appointment which was the following week.

The Endo said that I was right and test strips should not be restricted and said they would write to my gp accordingly, after that my gp never mentioned it again, so if stuck get your hospital team to back you up. Good luck.

Bear in mind that they have an expiry date - up to 12 months usually, and once you use the first test you have to use the rest within 90 days or they expire.

It's so frustrating how picky they are about something we need to like, you know, stay alive!!
 
is there anyone using the contour next meter in india? they haven't launched it here and so strips are not available either. i so need to find a meter where i can download stuff on my comp.
