Itching after Lantus injections?

I've not had the itching before but occasionally get a red mark where the pen needle has gone in, mind itching is listed in the side-effects:

If your concerned have a word with your DSN, as you know there's Levemir insulin which you could change to or there's that new basal insulin that came on the market this year called Trisiba, if I was getting an adverse reaction I'd be tempted to look for a change over.

I've previously discussed my long lasting insulin with my consultant (though not regarding this itching) and he felt Lantus was the best for me to be on going by how my blood sugars are. (often dropping down low or normal at night, then rising throughout the day). I'm on a waiting list for a pump - which is what he really feels would work best for me, but in the meanwhile Lantus.

Interesting looking at that link you post. I recall now telling them at the start about the reaction, but was told it would fade after a few weeks. 15+ year on I still get it, lol.

TBH if it's only occurring once a month it might be worth persevering for now until you get the OK for the pump, mind I'm very surprised they didn't change you over in the early days if you reported a adverse reaction to it.
