itching

have had type 2 for 11 years am having trouble with itchy red blotches that turn into patches of thick scaly skin-still very itchy- is this anything to do with the diabetes ? jennymac

Hi jenny what you are describing sounds like psoriasis which is also an autoimmune disorder. May happen naturally but can be triggered by stress. Another possibility is that it is a result of higher sugar levels. You should definitely make an appointment to see your gp and determine what it is or why you have it. Hope it clears up though
