Itchy legs

Hi I have been reading the forum for a while which has been really helpful. I am on a low cab diet which is working with blood sugar around 5.6 on waking and around 6 when I go to bed.

However I still get itchy shins even at low blood sugar less. I take metaformin, sitaglitin and glicozide.

Any thoughts?

I've been getting itchy shins as well - somebody recommended dabbing mouthwash on them and seems to have worked for me.

What sort of socks are you wearing?

I get very bad itchy legs from time to time, mostly at bed time and on my inner thighs, normally only in the winter and particularly bad in cold, dry, frosty weather. I'm not convinced that this is related in any way to my T2 diabetes. I've tried every cream and lotion available and constant moisturising, all to no avail in the past. This winter I tried simple Calomine Lotion put on with a cotton pad. It has worked very well and gives me several hours of relief.

Wow! This forum has everything!
I put my itchy shins down to a reaction to the Metformin. It's like a hives/urticaria/nettle rash which I scratch till I draw blood. Only on the front, not the backs of my lower legs. Sleeping with my legs out in the cold has been the only solution till now. And walking round in shorts.
Tonight I'm trying calamine, Listerine AND Calendula. Thanks chaps!
And @david1968 , I'm taking off my fish-nets.
