I have developed a red blotchy rash especially over my torso and I'm itching for the UK. I've tried everything to get rid of it, creams, tablets, moisturisers, good old talcum powder. My GP hasn't got a clue. I started Insulin in January, could it be a side effect? I'm thinking of trying to join the blotchys and see if it's a message!!!

as you know, rashes are hard to chase down
I would change dr, change insulin, stop the meds I don't really need for a while. double check remaining drugs for drug interactions on google
tried antihistamine?
blood tests?
food allergy?
cook fresh food, no processed food for a while

in your environment,
changed washing powder?
soaps
deodorants

People who start on insulin can have a allergic reaction to the insulin that they inject, often it can just be small rash around the injection site but in severe cases it can be as you describe. I would go back to your gp surgery and ask for a second opinion from another Dr, if they do think your insulin is the cause then they can change you to an alternative insulin.
