As many may be aware I was diagnosed as having diabetes last Friday after full bloods came back as fasting BG 9.4 and10.2 (2 separate occasions), also high cholesterol and BP 175/104. I am already on medication for Osteoarthritis, leg cramps and neuropathic pain. I have accepted the diagnosis, however my other half is not convinced and thinks it could be because of the medication I was already on. Whats everyones opinion on this?

This is my own personal opinion. You are diabetic and when I was diagnosed with bloods of 8.4 and 8.1 I was already cutting down on my carb intake. I cut down even more at diagnosis. My own leg cramps were cured by taking a magnesium supplement, but I am not saying that this would definitely help yours. I don't know about your medication because I have never been on any for any of those problems.

My other half took longer than me to accept my diagnosis too. Good luck with this :)

I tried magnesium years ago but didnt seem to have any effect, so doctor put me on 300mg Quinine

hi, accepting it is essential in getting your head around what you have to do to get better, accepting that diabetes is progressive is wrong on the other hand, you can be healthier than ever with the right lifestyle choices :)
