Hi,
I am new to the forum but have been Type 2 for the last 3 years.
Does anyone have any knowledge of Januvia? I have just been put on this and appear to be suffering from low BS readings.
Felt unwell last night so checked my reading and it was 2.9 and agin today felt a bit lightheaded and it was 3.0. Strange this is this morning when I woke up it was 10.5?

Just wondered if I should persist or if anyone else has had similar issues?

Hi Wkdmag, I am new to the Forum as I have just been recently diagnosed T2. Unfortunately I do not know anything about Januvia, but I am sure someone will be along later to give you some advice.

They are all very friendly and helpful, so hang on in there, they are probably all at work and not logged in yet.

Welcome to the Forum.:)

Good luck

Marilyn

Hi Wkdmag,

Welcome to the forum. I am on 50mg once a day Januvia, so far I haven't noticed any problems. Are you on 100mg ? that would be the normal dose. i am sure someone will be along with a little more knowledge.

I'm on 1x Janumet which is 50mg Januvia and 1000mg Metformin twice a day, I wish it was as effective for me, morning fasting running at about 10, due for my next HbA1c on Friday and expecting my levels to have gone up from the 7.9 i got last time on just maxium metformin and for the DN to change/increase my meds again, not sure if the metformin or januvia will be increased or she'll put me on something different again

Hi Wkdmags, I have been on 3x 500mg metformin and 1 x 100mg Januvia (sitagliptin) since being diagnosed in October last year and I'm sure it has helped my bg levels go down along with diet and exercise of course. I have had no side effects and as far as I am aware Januvia does not cause hypos. Are you on any other medication that could do this?

Hi, thanks for the replies.
I am on 500mg Metformin and 80mg of Gliclazide as well as the Januvia 100mg.
Dr reduced my Gliclazide from 160mg.

Thought I was doing ok but my HBA1C is at 7.8 and he wants to see it come down.
Quite frankly I feel that poorly feel like chucking all the tabs in the bin.

I have been taking Januvia 25 mg with Glicazide 160 mg for just over two weeks and lowest BG has been 3.7. GP wants mine to run between 6-10, HbA1c check in six weeks, last was 7.2 so will be interesting to see what it does with Januvia added in
No obvious side effects so far
