Hello @IBEX82 welcome to the forum, not a T2 myself so can't offer anything on Dr Fung but will tag @bulkbiker as I'm sure he has a few links to him.
Take care.
Yeah I'd definitely go for the "Diabetes Code" although when I started out it hadn't been published.
Also watch all his videos here

Like @Jim Lahey I credit the good Doc with saving my feet, eyes and life too.
I found the combination of intermittent fasting and an ultra low carb diet along with some extended fasting made huge changes to my overall health all for the better!
The Diabetes Code saved my life.
I weighed 23 stone at the time of diagnosis this morning was 14st 4 pounds.Thank you so much for your reply. That sounds fantastic and it’s obviously made such a change to your life.
Can I ask did you need to lose weight too and did this book help with that too or even just happen to be a happy side effect?
I see you’ve reversed your T2! That’s amazing! Well done and hopefully I can go some way to reversing mine
Any other good book recommendations are welcome.
I will admit to never having read anything by JF, nor watched any of his videos, but I do have access to the thoughts of @bulkbiker which is the equivalent, and usually more concise.
Thanks but it was actually rather easy after having it all explained by Jason Fung. As far as other recommendations go, I’ve now read a total of 23 books on diabetes and general nutrition science. If I were you I’d just start with anything written or spoken by Fung

Following the Fungsters methods should help with putting T2 into remission and significant weight loss, certainly did with me.
Worth adding that Fung is very easy to listen to. He narrates The Diabetes Code, so if you’re into that sort of thing, I recommend the audiobook.

I'd give IF and ultra low carb a go first.. Follow a ketogenic way of eating by cutting almost all carbs out of your diet.Oh wow! That is incredible! It’s been so hard for me to lose weight in the past - so much so I’m on an NHS programme working towards a gastric bypass
You’re such an inspiration! Well done!!
Great tip! I find audio books with a good narrator send me to sleep, lol!
So I have just ordered the paperback on Amazon and can read the first chapter on my kindle. I do love a real book.
The only thing that disheartens me is I am on steroids too which increase BG despite my best food efforts
The steroids thing is a bit of a bummer.. but at least you'll be doing your best to lower your blood sugars by diet so the sigars will likely be a lot lower than they would if you had done nothing. The only thing that disheartens me is I am on steroids too which increase BG despite my best food efforts

Not sure about fasting and steroids..will you be on them for long?

Give that 3 months and see how you get on.
Edit to add www.dietdoctor.com is also a great source of info.
Hello and welcome to the forum! A great place to start your journey, don’t you worry about that. You may find by adopting a low carb way of eating it may even help with some background health issues and not just diabetes. Hopefully the steroids can be discontinued sooner rather than later.
Like @britishpub I haven’t read the books myself but other members have got me up to date rather quickly on the concepts when I first joined and I have watched most of his videos as well as reading his Medium articles too. You’re in good hands and I’ve found in losing my weight that appetite control comes first which is something the Fungster does advocate quite a bit.
