[QUOTE="hanadr, post: 15605, member: 8110"] Join up on NHS information in different regions or PCTs What on earth are you expecting??. Our local hospital can't join up the parts of one patient. My long term type 1 husband has various complications, Eyes, feet, kidneys and recurrent bladder infections. Last year, they admitted him for IV antibiotic treatment for one of these infections. At the same time thye decided he was anaemic, but did they treat that while he was there?? NO he waited until discharged and the GP prescriber the iron. Then more recently, he had a phone call from the diabetologist on a Saturday evening, to say that a blood test done for the renal unit had come back with high potassium and could he please come in and see them on the Monday at 0830. I duly went with him and for the first time ever, a doctor sat him down and asked him to list all the medications that he'd been prescribed by each of the clinics he attends. this wonderful Man looked down the list and said " I think I know what's causing the trouble". It turned out that one of the antibiotics, was pushing up the potassium. The only people in that hospital who look at the whole person are the podiatrists who run their own ship and if they are not happy about something, call in a doctor from the relevant department.
