1st post. I'm about to join a gym for the 1st time and wondered if you have any tips for maintaining bg levels whilst gyming, or any other tips in general. Ta!
Scroll down the forums and have a read in the exercise forum there is quite a bit on snacks and general there, wont put a link to a single thread as lots of good info and worth a read
I would say ignore the gym spend the money on a local Personal Trainer they are brilliant and one on one and not to expensive. They will build your exercise in a correctly structured basis instead of you just doing different things
A gym is huge and impersonal, yes you can have help but it isn't on the same basis. I would never go back to a gym and used to belong to total fitness which at ours has fantastic facilitates but not suit my needs. If you look at the data most people find. They join a gym, go a few times and it fades a PT doesn't.
I joined the gym in November 2013 and at the same time diagnosed type 2. I have no personal trainer. I do cardio and heavy weights approx 4-5 times a week every week. This has been coupled with a total change in diet of low fat. The key is maintaining the exercise routine and diet. I had my bloods done recently and today i learned they were all clear. Doesn't mean that its been reversed because i don't believe it can be. I'm just going to continue what i have been doing. After all it can only be good for my wellbeing
I joined the local gym. The trainer there worked with me to come up with a plan, now I can just go whenever I have time, and spend as long, or as little as I can fit it. The other benefit is after my routine, I can spend time in the pool, or the sauna. Whichever suits you, any exercise is good.
