Joint pain

Hello 3 weeks ago I was diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic started on 500 mgs metformin initially now on 500 mgs metformin twice a day (I am overweight and unfit) my blood sugar levels are dropping with a reduced carb/ healthier diet - but for the past few months I have had chronic pain in my hips and thighs, back and shoulders had blood tests all normal apart from Hba1c - 63 the pain has begun to lessen since starting on second metformin I know joint pain can be a symptom but I have been unable to work for 5 weeks and have struggled with sleeping also, just wondered if any of you guys have had a similar experience?? Thank you in advance xx

Hello, and welcome, @Jo1302
Well done on the weight loss and taking control of your diet.
Were you prescribed statins, too? They have been known to cause joint pain for some.
Edit: I see Brunneria asked the same question, at the same time I was typing.
