JSA and Type 1

I recently missed a signing appointment at my local job centre. Immediately I called a re-arranged the apointment, adding my apologies, and stressing that I haven't missed an appointment to date. I cited the reasons for my missing my appointment as; looking after my elderly mother whilst my father is seriously ill in hospital. I simply forgot, and rectified my mistake. I am now under stoppage of JSA for a fortnight.
I have no money left. It is 12 miles to my job centre (I live in a rural backwater). I have tried to explain to them that I cannot now feed myself, and that I will end up in hospital very soon, if I don't eat. I have tried to explain that I will not be able to afford travel to the JC+ offices, so will have to walk 12 miles to get there, and if I can't feed myself such a walk will be unfeasable / dangerous to my health. I'm able to work, willing to, but this is now in jeopardy. Can anyone advise me here? I am going to hand in an appeal form this afternoon.

Not sure what you could do, Citizens Advice will able to help but the waiting list can be quite long to see an advisor, still there's no harm in ringing them as they may be able to advise over the phone.

No idea, I thankfully have never been on JSA. It does sound a bit inflexible especially if you have caring duties. I would either do what Nigel suggests, and go the CAB or try Diabetes UK they have an advocacy service.

You can call up jobcentre plus and ask them for a crisis loan, unfortunately you do have to pay this back, in the meantime, I would write a letter to customer services, explaining your reasons for not attending and also, if you are caring for someone you can claim carers allowance, seems to me you are getting treated like **** tbh, I'd also contact CA...

Hope you get the issues resolved
