Hi It's 24 c here today, with a bit more cloud, but still hot in the sun. I can just tolerate hot weather during the day, but the nights are still awfully muggy :(

I popped into town today, booked a coach trip to Greenwich In August, bought a Free from brie and bacon sandwich, with coffee and the package comes with a cookie or crisps, so I got a home made white chocolate and orange cookie for my daughter. Went to the park, sat by the bird Aviary, with some very cute and vocal budgies, ate my lunch whilst reading my book, it was lovely, just sitting there for an hour in the sun and not doing anything  The park is having a Live music weekend, with lots of stalls, a fun fair ( and animals I think) so we are thinking of going on Saturday night, and possibly again Sunday afternoon, so fingers crossed for the good weather to continue. It will be strange going out in the evening, but I am really looking forward to the music and the good atmosphere.

Take care RRB x

Hello all. Well it's now July, the height of summer

In this thread you can chat away about anything you want to, or post pictures and photos. What ever is going on and you want to share it, then please do, even if it's just to say 'hello I'm off to work' Take care

Best wishes RRB :)

I 'like' JULY as its half way through a year :)

But I HATE the too hot/warmer weather [like now]

ADORE the autumn - this is my favourite time of a year :D
Cooler days with cascade of scenic changing colours with nature's bounty 'gorgeous' :D
Would (hug) it if I could !!!

Summer is too intense for me TBH ...
TOO hot,muggy,stuffy,draining,exhausting etc...
This weekend is supposed to get 'hotter' still :(

I will be standing next to my fridge with its door 'open' cooling down :D
Fan on at night and windows flung open :D

You will find me prowling about all the freezer/fridges - in air conditioned stores too :D
I open fridge/freezer doors 'pretending' to look at stuff - do it long enough to cool down - then
move along onto the next one ! [hoping no-one spots me doing it for this reason alone :shifty: ]

Roof down on car [convertible] and wind in my hair looking cool [so I think  ]

Sit in the shade at ALL times :D
Sipping many iced slimline tonic waters with lemon slices :D

Having 'more' cooling showers than I normally do :D
Not bother to even blow dry my hair - just let it dry un natural :D

Hot 'july' can also play havoc with my BG levels - up n down unpredictably
Don't know why or how even :eh:

What do others 'do' to keep their COOL in this heat ?

Anna .

I had to take the day off from painting the OUTSIDE of a bungalow as the siencer fell off my car, again. Last time I thought I had fixed it, but I obviously didn't! Car now fixed.

Said to friend Lorna this morning, shopping then walk on beach or walk on beach then shopping?
Friend Lorna replied, shopping then home for me to practice my playing as pianist coming round later to play duets etc. You fix your car.
As I said, I did fix the car while Lorna and friend played on piano and oboe.
After friend had gone I had a wash (just clean enough to not have oil/rust on face). Then walk on beach. Nice cool breeze, lots of happy people, sun shining, oooh, a bit too shining for me so we only walk part way along beach then home for food.
Now sitting in hot utility room over hot computer getting hot. Could get up and open window, but too hot.
Yesterday I had lost 2 pounds since Sunday, now put a pound back on. Obviously oil and rust.
And there is more to come.

I work for a large well known supermarket they have very large walk in freezers where they keep the over stock I swear there's an imprint of my shape against one of the walls where I go to cool down its bliss in this weather
