I have just been diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes, I have got to go see the diabetic midwife in a few days where I assume I will get a blood testing kit and be given more information. I am terrified and really scared about my pregnancy, I am 30 weeks I don't want to be induced or have a c-section so I am really panicking about that.

Hi Pammie,
First take a deep breath. Untouched are 30 weeks so the finish line is in sight now.
Talk to the midwife about how you feel and why. Please keep in mind that any decisions made will be for your health and that of baby.
Congratulations your pregnancy and all the best for delivery.

Hello and welcome,

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Having this diagnosis can be very overwhelming but your medical team will just want the best for you and your baby. I agree that to start with just talk to your midwife and discuss the possible outcomes. In the end the important outcome is a healthy mum and baby. That doesn't mean you will be induced or need a cesarean- I suspect before they will give you and probable outcome they will want to monitor you and the baby for a while.

So breathe and rest while you can and try not to worry- I know that it is easier said than done.

Take care of yourself and welcome to the site.
