I have just been for my checkup and I have gone from 8.1 to 8, not very good. I am on 4 metformin tabs a day. They want me to increase to 5 a day. I do not want to. There is so much conflicting information out there, I just want to know what I can do to get it under control. I have been type two for two years now.

Well at least it never went up, but just the same you really need to lower your hba1c and may have to look at other options available to you in achieving this. Good luck!

you may need to have a good luck at your diet and see if there is any alterations u can make that will benefit you :D

You haven't been diagnosed long and you have a long way to go, preferably unencumbered by complications.
there are a couple of options available:
1 Greatly increase your exercise
2 Decrease your carb intake
3 Ask for a complete change of medication.
personally, I'd suggest both 1 and 2 would probably help and are in your own hands

Good advice from Hana, even a moderate increase in exercise/decrease in carbs can be beneficial in reducing blood glucose.
