away on my own from my wife for the first time since my diagnosis. just can't sleep. I think having the comfort of my wife who is amazing and recognises signs of highs and lows enables me to sleep well at home. Really struggling away from home :(

I hope you managed to drop off eventually! I'm actually on my own for the first time this weekend (bar the pets, but I don't think they count!)

Eventually, gone 3 am, of course pets count!

Feel for you Brett. In 15 years of having T1 diabetes I have never been able to sleep when alone - it's a right pain. If my husband is away a few nights he comes back to a wreck because of lack of sleep. Makes me feel really grateful for the times he's woken me when I'm low. It also makes me think about those who live on their own and how they cope - I admire them because I'm not sure if I could handle it.

In the 3 and a bit months since I've been diagnosed my boyfriend has never had to come to the rescue so I don't feel particularly reliant on him, it's just the comfort of knowing he's there if I ask for him.

I wonder if I could teach the puppy to dial 999......

Same, never relied on my wife as always able to help myself, but nice having tbe comfort of knowing shes there. As for the dogs bet you could if you has very large phone buttons lol

I got this puppy just 3 weeks before I was diagnosed. My dietician friend got all excited saying he might grow up being able to sense my hypos and turn out to be a hypo alert dog.

Turns out he's too stupid or doesn't care enough to notice haha
