Staying with some friends this weekend and went out for a few miles walk - came home thirsty and we both headed for the fridge.

At home, I keep a stock of low-everything chocolate milk in the fridge - it turns out that Mike doesn't; he keeps Marks and Spencer's 'Chocolate Milk Drink' - and I've just consumed an entire 1 litre bottle.

Already pitched the bottle in the trash, so can't easily check the label, but I rather suspect that I've just consumed a huge slug of sugars/carbs.

Haven't got my meter with me, so can't check, but I wonder how high I'll have pushed myself after 2 or three hours?

As a precaution, going to head out for another few miles shortly.

Next time, I'll be sure to check the label more carefully...

M&S is usually made with full fat milk so will contain a good bit of suger and fat but will balance itselft out in your system especially if you had just been for a run. However if you then go for another few miles after a litre of milk your in for a world of hurt

Couldn't test until later the morning after, but was 4.9.

Was in M&S today and had a look at a bottle - looks like I consumed 110 grams of carbs of which 105 were sugar. It uses low fat milk, so a total of 19g of fat, of which 12g saturated.

Since an OGTT only uses 75g of sugar, I guess I did a bit of pancreatic stress testing; I don't know if that small amount of fat was enough to cause the 'pizza effect' and slow it down by much.
