Hi all,

Went 6 months ago and my hba1c was 60, just been for my 6 monthly and its 67... gutted to say the least.

Been on antibiotics in april for a had chest and haven't been active anywhere near what I should be.
I'm type 2 and need some advice. I've never seen a jump that big before, is this going to cause me some serious problems with a resulting 67 hba1c?

I'm not overweight and my waist was actually 4cm less than last year. Been T2 for 7 years and on 4x metformins and 1 Gliclazide at day.

The nurse has asked for me to make an appointment, any ideas what she will say?

@sharpharp, sorry to hear your unwelcome news. I am sure your nurse will want to review your medication and (perhaps) diet. In the meantime you might want to put a plan together yourself, which you can present to the Nurse. Remember it is your choice whether to accept your HCP's advice. Take a look at your carb intake, you may be able to reduce it?

Since the high level has persisted then, yes, it could cause problems so it would be a good idea to lower it if you can. The pills didn't do much for me but changing the diet did so you should examine your diet and make changes.
Don't drink fizzy drinks. Cut down on food containing sugar, flour, rice and potatoes and if you buy low fat stuff and skimmed milk etc. then stop doing that as well since it only makes things worse.
If you have already done all that then I am sorry for repeating it.

They are only allowed to push the party line or risk being charged with malpractice. The party line currently says that you should be encouraged to eat as the general population does. She will then organise some regular examinations of feet, eyes etc.
