Just introducing myself.

Hi all , Im a type 1 Diabetic since May 2007 at 20 , I've dealt with on my own ever since .This past Saturday I had a DK due to a vomiting bug , well I was sleeping a lot and became dehydrated.I spent the last 6 days in hospital .After 8 years its probably time I discussed and shared things with other people.Bar my Doctor I dont talk with anyone else about it.
It shook me quite a bit as I can't remember any of Saturday into Sunday morning....

About myself , I love cooking football MMA and Horror movies.

I'm sorry you've been poorly. I hope you are feeling better now.
 
Thanks Im a lot better now.Rough few days with saline and dextrose I.V treatment.
 
Like you I have just joined and also lived with my diabetes on my own (my wife and daughters excepted) other than medical professionals.

A lot of info can be gleaned from forums such as this and equally a lot can be given to others.

Hi there and welcome to the forums

Its a good place to talk and share your thoughts and get some good friendly advice. I notice that you love cooking which is a great thing with diabetes.. .check out some of the amazing recipes for lower carb foods....I know the change of diet can be really important to people and if you love cooking that 75% of the way there.... As I'm not a Type 1 just diet controlled pre-diabetic I will just stick to the welcome, wish you well and hope that you stay with us.
