I have just joined,My husband is diabetic.He has just come out of hospital after falling with low blood sugar
The doctor won't give him a glucose meter and strips... :(

Welcome to the forum. The refusal to give your husband a blood testing meter and strips is, alas, common. So many of us fight for the right to test. Use the search box on this forum for advice on where to get cheap test strips and machines from. It's far cheaper to order on line than to buy one from your local pharmacy. Be persistent with your diabetic nurse...you never know!

You can buy a meter and strips on Amazon called the "SD Codefree" Most people seem to think it works fine. And the strips are the cheapest around.
What medication is your husband on? If he's on medication that can cause hypos then he should be able to insist on a meter. If he's on diet only, or just on metformin, he won't.
