i'm 26 and D1- diagnosed about 5 years ago. I live a healthy lifestyle- i dont drink much, do at least 45 minutes of exercise a day and also eat well most of the time. Still, since being diagnosed i've experienced really bad fluid retention from my ankles, all the way up, affecting my knees, thighs and stomach!! my Doc wont give me anything strong due to it effecting my kidneys ans says its unlikely to be connected to my diabetes- does anyone else suffer from this? if so any tips to get rid of it as it really gets me down.

Thankyou!! :)

I don't have this problem, but what kind of exercise are you doing? A change in this might help.
Getting your circulation going really well and resting with feet up sometimes might just do it.
Do you have a local authority Sports centre nearby? they usually have Very well trained personnel. You might find a consultation with an exercise therapist caould give you the answer.

hi Hana

thanks for the reply
I try to keep my circulation going and also try to keep my feet up as much as poss but it doesn't seem to help!!
An exercise therapist sounds interesting though- perhaps my dr can help!!
