Keep getting told by people that I can get rid of Diabetes Type one

Just to elaborate @Jim Lahey , (I have no desire to come across as "sardonic.")

The "CBD" element in cannabis has certain benefits for pain sufferers..
But, the possible "psychosis" caused by some high THC elements in certain modern cultivated strains?

I've no need to spell out what the possible anxiety from such a "trip" if a psychotic or paranoid episode is triggered? might actually do to heart rate & associated metabolic reactions...

The risk is on the user. The user should understand potential risks.

Back on topic indeed.
We're talking people claiming curing T1 is possible on this thread. A possible smaller liver dump is very much off topic.
Any further derailing will be deleted.

Amazingly these days at my doctors I am being told that any doctor can see me as they all have knowledge of type one diabetes, my reply was to the receptionist at the time, how do know that are you a specialist of knowledge on the subject lol.

At last someone with sense!!!
I can remember Daniel Darkes and can not quite put my finger on that case either! And Gran Vicat I admire for staying on and helping out wherever he can.
BUT the podcast brigade who absolutely believe everything the are hearing about so called cures really need to extract their heads. Read the type 1 forum and see everyones hourly struggles and see how many of them have been "cured".
I applaud all the type 2s who have turned their condition into remission thru diet......BUT you are still a type 2....your "medicine" is not eating carbs

BUT you may get the munchies....then BOOM with the carbs lol

I don’t think they understand what happens if we don’t take insulin

Like hey let’s go do some exercise to revive our insulin beta cells.

I'm going through this thread quite late but smiled at that line, it's funny (or not and off topic ) but recent research shows the 'honeymoon period' can be extended up to 5 years with hard exercise, this honeymoon period didn't exist when I was diagnosed aged 17 and stopped sport for 6 months, pre diagnosis I played football, rugby and boxed but my clubs all said to get stabilised before I came back and carried on and the boxing club wanted a doctors certificate saying I was fit, long story short I got fit again but used to have some crazy hypos, the doc wouldn't sign a note for the boxing club but I played the other 2 sports but was always hypo prone for the first 6 years.

Off topic as I say but 35 years later I blame the honeymoon period...

Which as a T2 is exactly my belief - I can only ever claim to be well controlled, which is also what my GP tells me.

I treat my diabetes the same way I (tried to) control my chronic migraines - by avoiding the known triggers - in both cases food related, but a bit more generic for my T2. however the actual cause is still there, and I know that if I go back to "wrong" eating, so will the symptons re-appear...

But I also understand there's a huge difference between something that doesn't exist any longer, and something that does but behaves incorrectly..

I too, 31 years diagnosed, did not have a honeymoon period, nor was it mentioned !!

I think we are missing the OPs original thread post here

It is NEVER going to happen!

Bin day on Wednesday, so now to have a serious talk to my 'diabetes' and probably a jolly good telling off too
