In regards to sharing ideas, knowledge and information, if it’s not silly information or uneducated responses, I feel it does help someone. My best friend who has fibromyalgia, pcos, apparently partially blocked artery, ibs and allergies, I passed on information from this forum to her. Her doctor was reluctant to offer her statins and I linked the forum post about statins to her, so she can make a very careful decision. Her doctor suggested diet and I linked diet doctor for lchf and keto food ideas to her to try. All of the methods for fibromyalgia hasn’t helped her so I linked the latest study with the use of Metformin to her, even her rheumatologist didn’t know. So she can research it and make an informed decision for both her fibromyalgia and pcos. So what I’m saying is, despite me not having those conditions or experienced it myself, I’ve been able to help someone who is closest to me. It is thanks to everyone here, so we shouldn’t drive the divide between the different types of diabetes. I hope we are all here as one collective group trying to help those who need it, whatever condition it may be. If we are really picking at people for not understanding at what it is like to live with diabetes. Then we shouldn’t be talking to our diabetes team, my team only has one type 1 diabetes specialist nurse who knows both sides. But they share their knowledge, methods and offer mental health support because they know it is difficult but we know the extent of it. (My consultant, as lovely as he is and who is willing to prescribe the latest medication and treatments. He shares what he knows, but he doesn’t understand the never ending difficulties that I face. But I think what it is important is to not judge someone and that’s what I admire about my team.)
