If I had a pound, for every time I checked,
The sugar in my body, n' thinking 'Oh by 'Eck"

I test 8 times a day, to make sure I'm in range,
Some people stop and stare and think 'that guy's deranged."

I don't think they really get it; the blood, the shots, the food?
The daily little battle to make to be sure I'm in a good mood.

If I'm high I'm cranky, If low I'm dizzy too;
The thoughts of joy when in range, and thinking, "Well; Woohoo"

But the injections they are working, bringing me back to 'sound'
Until one day a cure; just a wish for it to be found.

In the meantime I keep running, shooting up each day.
Waiting for the day, for science to take this battle away.
