I was diagnosed glucose intolerant about 2 years ago. recently I have be taken off metformin and control diabetes by diet however all diets suggest lose of weight How do avoid this as I am 5ft 7 and weigh 8st 11.
if you consume more energy than you burn off, i assume you put weight on? so if you want to stay the same weight consume the same amount as you burn? upping the fat in your diet should do this without affecting blood glucose numbers
I've never been under weight and I'm not a nutritionist or medical, so this is just my guess, hopefully someone clever will happen by shortly
Your weight indicates you don't need to lose ANY! My diabetes GP said the same to me and didn't notice I was underweight; they can be pretty dumb. You don't need to lose weight but your diet needs to be low-carb but topped up with protein and fat to keep you happy.
