"But new research suggests the diets could lead to insulin resistance in the liver - a condition that prevents the body responding properly to the hormone insulin and is a stepping stone to Type 2 diabetes."
Well it was carbs and diet colas that gave me fatty liver and insulin resistance and from there, T2. When I reduced carbs and gave up diet drinks and increased fats in my diet, the fatty liver reversed.
When will these so called intelligent scientists stop harming the poor mice? I am not a mouse! What happens in my body is not the same as what happens in mice. Why can't scientists understand that? It's not difficult really is it? If you want to find out about humans then test on .....humans! Perhaps the scientists should try keto themselves for better brain function?
Oh @dbr10 I am still seeing you as insulin dependent. DCUKMod might be able to help you if you PM her? If you are bothered about it, that is. If not it can be our little secret that you know that I know that you aren't really on insulin. I won't tell a soul, promise....
I think that's the full paper and I'm not in a position to comment but I think there's much more to it than meets the eye. Do mice normally consume fat? My wife who spent several years doing research into all sorts of pharmaceuticals on mice tells me that although mice are a good place to start with research you shouldn't be making claims at this stage, it has to be taken forward, possibly using monkeys and eventually humans. It was not unusual for several drugs to look promising on mice and absolutely hopeless on monkeys and humans. Who knows where this will go?
