Home from hospital 5 days after a 5 day stay in hospital for ketoacidosis , panicking a bit as have got an appointment for a scan on kidneys next week.. my legs and ankles are extremely swollen.. and don't want to stop swelling. Also not been able to pooh properly its just a few drips of water so my stomach is swollen
Spoke to diabetic professional from the hospital and they say to give it a week but I am really worried now.. how long is recovery from ketoacidosis..

So glad you‘re ok. That’s a very tough and painful experience. I had a similar experience many years ago and was hospitalized for 4 or 5 days too in US. I was very dehydrated and never had swollen legs or ankles, though. I felt pretty good when I was discharged, howver I recall watching my Endo, who came to see me in the hospital everyday look at my labs and shake her head. She kept telling me things didn’t look good at all and I couldn’t go home. I recall being worried I had permanent damage, but I was rather clueless about the details. I was in denial I think. Luckily, my labs did turn around and I suffered no lasting damage. I took extra care to avoid DKA since that day. It’s a very scary thing. I think I felt much to myself within a couple of weeks or sooner.
