Hi
Does anyone know if it's possible to have ketoacidosis when you are already on medication and a type 2 diabetic. I just feel really poorly lately and am worried it's ketoacidosis like it was when I was first diagnosed

Hello kms1985, do you have any Ketostix to do a wee dip to test for ketones? it would be good to have a testing done, while you are feeling so poorly.
I have had this happen to me, what a weird feeling it is, maybe a quick visit to the doctor or the diabetes nurse, with a wee sample for them to dip stick and get a reading, and then ask for some stix to have at home.
When it got me, it converted some of my body fat to use as energy, I felt thinner for the experience, there are blood keto testing monitors, but they might be you buy, instead of getting them free from the doctor,(I believe that diabetics should be supplied with the testing meter kits and then strips and lancets free on prescription)
Off you go to the health centre and get dip sticked, and know were you are going with the ketoacidosis, ttfn from Karen.

I don't have any dipsticks but was thinking of buying some. My BS isn't high at all I think
I'm worrying over nothing

Hello kms 1985, Maybe this is so, being calm is tough when you feel off kilter. ask your doc or nurse to prescribe some for free, they are needed as part of your condition control, still here to listen and support, ttfn Karen.
