Hello. I had a sickness bug 2 days ago and mu sugar waa ranging between 17 and 23. I counter acted it with insulin. Ive bren type 1 for 36 years. I am 48. My cassette on my blood machine expired today my fault as i should of re ordered but being ill i didnt. So i had some ketone tests and ive just done it and it was 2.6 ive took extra humilog but i have no way of measuring my bloods. Do i go to A & e or am i a time waster. Really unsure what to do.

Do you know anyone else close-by who uses a blood glucose meter. Perhaps you could share. Can you get to a chemist, and buy a meter and strips ( sometimes the meters are free, but the strips cost ). If you are worried, go to A and E. Better safe than sorry.
Thank you. I dont know anyone who would have strips. Im sure i was told once if ketones ever went above 1.5 to get to A&e. I think if i wait an hr and if the ketones has risen i will go up. Thank u soo much for the advice
