What causes ketones in your urine. I've been told by A.E that I have lots of glucose and ketones in my urine. Got to speak to my Gp Mon my last blood test was OK. The permanent antibiotics I'm on can cause blood sugar problems. After advice please. Been feeling poorly with weakness, headache, thirsty and thrush.

Keytones are normally generated because your body is consuming its own fat to survive

That can be due to starving or lack of insulin or insulin resistance.. I guess there could be other reasons too...

Glucose in the urine would normally be because the levels in your blood are too high so your kidneys are trying to lower it be you peeing it out

I’m surprised a+e discharged you if you have lots without further tests..

I would take their advice and be on the phone first thing Monday pushing for an emergency appointment.. which will probably result in you going back to the hospital for blood test
