Really sorry to go over this again but I could do with some kind of explanation to whats happening to my ketone levels. In the morning the reading is generally around 0.8 but after exercise which is normally mid afternoon the reading has risen to around 1.9. Is this due to my body using fat as fuel for exercise? And is this classed as being in ketosis?
Nutritional ketosis is OK for Type 1s if you know what you're doing, but If you had the same ketones and your BGs were up in the teens, then you would be at risk of escalating towards ketoacidosis, and should be following sick day rules.
Fairly new to LCHF, but I am positive I read not to test for ketones after exercise as they will be higher , I cant remember where I saw it tho............ and to either test first thing or at the end of the day to get a consistent result
