Hi I. Have been a diabetic for 25yrs and for the last year I have been on a pump Unfortunately I got keystones 3weeks ago because my cannular was not in properly so had been without insulin for several hours.I became very ill very quickly vomiting etc The keystones were at 3.9
I eventually managed to control everything but was told by several people that I should have presented myself at A&E Therefore when I got keystones this morning reading 4 I tried to speak to the on call specialist for over one hour unsuccessfully I treated myself with more insulin and drank lots of water while I decided to go to hospital. On the way to the hospital I got through to someone who said that she could talk me through things and that I didn't need to go to hospital.She advised me to do tests every hour and said she would get the diabetic nurse to call me which she has twice Unfortunately after my keytones reduced over time they have increased again Ugh.Is this usual Most of my family feel I was better off on the pen as I never had keytones
