Hi ...
Can anyone help...
Type 2.
Now diagnosed with early CKD.
Can anyone advise re a topical cream/ointment for the genital area to help with the intense itching and burning...
I was using sudacrem but been told it's a big no no as it can enter the urethra and cause more irritation. When I asked if I can use vaseline I got a sort of 'mmmm??? ...it's petroleum jelly
It's driving me crazy ...I can't begin to explain the level of discomfort.
I've got the underwear and pads sorted but I literally have seconds to slap something on after a wee.
Also:
Been looking at hand held portable bidet wash systems.
Can anyone recommend one?
Thank you

Trouble is many of the potions the doctors give have PJ in. Firstly getting a correct diagnosis is key. Took me 18 months and still 3 years on still a nightmare. Balmonds products excellent for skin conditions. Yes you have to pay . Best of Luck

Until you find something geared to your specific problem, you might find aloe vera gel helpful. It does no harm, is gentle, and you can use it frequently as you like.

I'm going to come right out of the left field and suggest Bag Balm, I'm pretty sure you can get it in the UK. It was a product that was originally developed for cows udders, as they can get very sore and chapped. I've used it to protect my birds combs and wattles from frost bite. It is a very soothing balm with mild antiseptic properties. It is very similar to vaseline but better. Although developed for farm animals people have caught onto its soothing properties. It's used on babies for nappy rash, and for chapped lips that type of thing. Anyways it is a suggestion.

I have psoriasis and I sometimes get it in intimate places, and I use a product from Stinky Stuff and it’s really very good, they do things for animals hence the name but they do for us humans too.

It’s a tad expensive but it goes a very long way as you only need a little bit. It’s all natural and suitable for vegans and it states it can be used on intimate areas. I’ve had the big pot which is £50 at the moment though I got it when they had an offer on and I’ve had it 12 months only half gone and I use it at least twice a day.
