Yes; to be fair, I also know a bit about Snapchat because my son and daughter both use it. Having asked Mr Google, I now know a little about kik as well: it's another messaging service, developed in Canada and particularly popular there and in the US. In the words of Wikipedia:

Kik Messenger has drawn controversy due to its reported involvement in a number of incidents of child exploitation. The app has been criticized as unsafe for minors due to its anonymity features and allegedly weak parental control mechanisms
