Lack of sleep needs more insulin?

Has anyone else found this? I'm on 20% extra basal and I've taken about 27u today before dinner! (Normally take 30-35 u a day)

Stinking headache and bloods of 10+ all day

Yep this also happens to me when I am deprived of sleep. Something to do with all the adrenaline and what not in the body sending our sugars up!

Yes happens to me but I hadn't directly made the link with no sleep until now to be honest. Journeys back from holidays when I'm shattered having not slept, or nights before work when I've been awake stressing about things may well be the reason for some ridiculously high numbers. Interesting about the adrenalin what not Thanks.

I suppose if we don't sleep well we get stressed and stress can lead to higher bg levels.

Actually at 3am i found this wasnt related to either. Not sure what happened but had a problem with Set and had it bleeding badly and bruised.
