Well went cinema with kids and friends and had brill time. Someone bought me cappachino and I drank it (no sugar) then in kfc I stupidly ordered a blt wrap thinking it was least scary (no salads) but two hours later sugar 12 dow to 10 now but my gosh 12 in so silly..so walking dog in rain and with speed.highest its been since xmas I'm so cross with myself..school holidays are a night mare and were of coast so I'm doing myself packed lunch :-(...does get me down at times. But I do blame myself..I'm only writing it as just want others to read and not be so daft as me

A short lack of willpower is allowed providing you get back on the wagon!

I've only ever had one reading of 12 that stayed up at 10 before coming down. It wasn't terribly naughty, nor a lack of willpower. It was a tuna mayo and red onion sandwich on 2 slices granary bread that I thought would be reasonable seeing as I can manage one slice of granary bread normally. I was astounded. So it can happen to anyone! Don't beat yourself up about it.

I do this kind of thing with annoying regularity.

I'm a walking encyclopaedia on the GI of foods. I have years of practice low carbing. I know better.

And then (far too often) I do something similar to your cinema wrap. :banghead:

I think it is called 'being human'.

;)

I've been wanting a kfc since diagnosis :wacky: I am sure at some point i shall surrender and perhaps forget my bg monitor that day :)

Don't beat yourself up, you know what you did and why so you can learn from it, it's over forget about it , onwards and upwards, we all have blips like this, it doesn't help to punish yourself about it.

A little tip for your next KFC visit, have the 3 piece chicken an d pull off the coating and throw it away right away, the chicken is lovely and succulent underneath, and even if you do eat some of the coating from what I can recall ( and don't hold me to this - check for yourself in their website) the 3 piece chicken comes out at about 21 g of carb, may be a bit high for some but still a lot less than a wrap.

I only eat KFC about twice a year so do indulge in the chicken with the coating and it doesn't seem to affect my bs too badly, enjoy the rest of the school hols,:)

Thanks guys for your support I will remain cross with myself and excelent tip about the chicken I never thought of that. Glad u understand

It's all part of learning what works and what doesn't work for you. Kudos on your testing regimen, so you know what happened and why. My worst spike so far took me to 14.0, but it helped me to understand not to eat that thing (which in this case was a small bowl of fibre-cleanse cereal, very early in my T2 journey).
