lactose-free milk

Hi.
I'm new to low-carbing. Have bought several books and counters etc but can't find the answer to my particular problem. My books say that milk contains carbs because it contains lactose. So I got some lactose-free milk (can't live long without coffee and can't drink it black!!) but none of the books tell me what the carbs are, so I'm counting it as soya milk. Does anyone else have any info on this? Thanks.

Lactofree semi skimmed milk has 2.8 gm of carbs per 100ml. Which works out at about 1.4 gm of carb per mug of coffee.

Lactose free whole milk is 2.7 gm per 100ml.

Soya milk is 0.9 gm of carbs per 100ml.

Normal semi skimmed milk is 5gm per 100ml.

Normal whole milk is 4.7 per 100ml.

Most major supermarkets sell lactose free milk.

Coffee is nice with cream too and you need less of it.
The one I use contains 3gm carbs per 100ml.
Enjoy

The moderators might tell me off for this, but I had an email yesterday from (Name removed) . He has a website called ( removed ).

He sent me a free diet sheet which, more or less, mirrors the advice given by many regualrs on this forum. However, it is verging on being a vegan diet, whereas, me being a big bloke, prefer the Atkins style diet. Anyway, I'm beginning to waffle a bit, sorry. My reason for telling you all this is because he reckons that milk and dairy products are taboo full stop. This obviously poses a problem to people as to what to put in their tea or coffee or indeed on their breakfast cereal.

In my case, I've made a decision, only today, to stop drinking tea or coffee. From now on I will only drink hot water, flavoured with either lime or lemon juice. Fine when you are at home but more tricky when you are "out and about". The answer then is to have a herbal tea/infusion instead - key being, drink something that doesn't contain caffine.

If the moderators will forgive me, here is an extract from his free fact sheet which justifies why you shouldn't use milk or other dairy products:

Kinda gives me a bit of a dilemma when it comes to what I should pour on my Lizi's granola breakfast cereal every morning!!! :?

I have stuffed a hardback book down the back of my trousers and await the wrath of Ken and Sue with trepidation.

Ardbeg.

We have seen this man (name and website removed) before. Suffice to say he is a banned member.

We are allowing the extract to remain, however part of it is dated back in the 1980's so would advise members to do some more up to date research about the comments in the article.

Hi Ken,

Sorry, I didn't realise he was banned from this forum.

I did identify with a lot of the info contained in his free fact sheet.

Wonder how he got my email address? :?
