Diagnosed as T2 5 yrs ago, currently taking 4 metformin per day.

Currently suffering from a virus and generally feeling unwell. Went to see my gp 2 weeks ago where my gp casually told me I was LADA ☹️ Which was a bit of a shock , He told me I wasn’t obese just over weight!

Feeling really confused as this has never been mentioned before but it may account for why I can’t seem to get my bs down.

Blood test booked for 8th Feb

Hi @Allig, As far as I aware one needs blood test results to definitely prove LADA. Latent Auto-Immune Diabetes of Adulthood
Your GP have meant that he/she thinks you have LADA. There is nothing 'casual' about it or your weight. These are important and relevant to your health and well-being.
Did your GP actually suggest how your BSLs might be best controlled at the moment?
And do you have a glucose meter and strips to test your BSL?
And what are you supposed to do if you become more unwell and have higher BSLs, did he/she advise you ??
You can find some information on LADA by going to the Home page and typing LADA into the search box right top corner.
Please post back if you do not have a glucose meter. Your GP can prescribe one for you and quickly if you ring and request.
But if you meet a brick wall, there is information on site about how to obtain the least expensive meter and the strips it uses.
Please keep in touch and see your GP if you feel more unwell. There is nothing casual about diabetes and feeling unwell. !!!
